I received a call from our daughter Stef this afternoon. She was obviously upset as she told me that there was a major problem with her car. She said it was making weird noises, and her engine sounded like it was racing, but going nowhere. At that time she was able to drive it so I told her to go to the garage. She went there, and they told her it was her transmission, and it would cost $3700 to fix it, $200 more than she paid for the vehicle. She only had the car for about 6 months. She was upset and headed toward our place, about 3 miles away. On the way there the car began making loud noises, and it sounded like something was scraping, so she pulled off the road and stopped to avoid causing additional damage. When I received the next call she told me her car left her stranded, and she walked to our place, just a couple blocks away. Here you see her as her car is being pulled onto the back of the car carrier. This dealer is a relative to a friend, and when he heard the noise it made as he backed it up, he told Stef that he believes it is the axle, not the transmission, and that would mean a lot less money. But even if it was the transmission, he told Stef he can get one for a lot less money, like $450, and to put it in he would change about $400. That's a whopping $2900 less. Thus Stef is displaying a bit of a smile here rather than tears of frustration. Oh the reality of life. Just when you thibnk things are going along smoothly, but do not fret, Daddy is here to help.
Love this shot. Those light rays are tremendous. Well she has a smile on her face now. What we do for our offsprings! I am the taxi driver, always at hand when needed; I am the handyman, always there when needed; I am the baby sitter, always there when needed; and you can go on and on. I don't mind though.
We are at the mercy of vehicles, most of us anyway, due to the location of communities to where the work is located. It's so very expensive to live close to the city so many people commute. UGH!
