as I mention in the photo description, this is a total crap shot....but it really shows where I live and what is important in our town. it's not just about football - it's about kids and families and everyone supporting each other :)
I live in Bergen, Norway. Bergen is an old Hanseatic city and two of the most well known sights in the city are the German Wharf and the inner harbour:
The town I grew up in as a child- Fish Hoek, Cape Peninsula - South Africa - known for having both the Indian and Atlantic Oceans as its boundaries, beautiful white sandy beaches, mountains, great white sharks, southern right whales, old aged homes and a couple of weirdos. I have since moved on from here! ;) A little too insular for me.
i live in a part of nj that used to be mainly lake homes...and now its full of full time residents...in fact, growing up my mom and her fam would to go the lake house for the summer, and her lake house is pretty close to where i now currently live
also live in the woods where this is quite common
The Seattle, Washington area is a varied environment from the Pacific Ocean to the majestic mountains and everything in between. One or two pictures cannot do it justice.
I'm currently living in South Carolina USA, where there are lots of waterways, rivers, ponds, lagoons. This lagoon is round the corner from my home and I took it this morning at 7am!!! Er, in my PJs too!!!
Because of the nuclear history of the Tri-Cities area (south-eastern Washington State, USA), I think that's what most outsiders think of:
however, most of us who live here think of the natural beauty of the area, such as this of the Columbia River in the foreground, with Rattlesnake Mountain (the tallest treeless mountain in the continental U.S.):
Newcastle and the Tyne Bridge from the rejuvenated Gateshead Quays
This is what a lot of people still think the North East of England is all about - coal mining. Well coal mining and ship building have both disappeared from Tyneside and Northumberland!
I live about 5min away from this... (Noordhoek beach, Cape Town SA)
And 10 min away from this...(Fish Hoek beach, Cape Town SA) Same beach @thebluegnu has in her day time picture. I'm probably one of the weirdos....lol
It's gotta' be the Butte... from whence comes the name of a geologic landform... "Steptoe, also called Dagala, a hill or mountain that projects like an island above a surrounding lava field. This landform, a type of kipuka, is named after Steptoe Butte, a quartzite protrusion above the Columbia Plateau lava flows" in the Palouse hills of Eastern Washington. I have more than one shot of the Butte and I will probably continue to shoot her as she is magnificent!
we live in one of a handful of houses two miles outside a small town...the town has a lake which is where we have walked, cycled, scooted, picnicked, watched wildlife, talked, laughed...this picture reminds me of all the visits we've made there since our daughter was born.
I'm in Glendale, AZ. I was hiking in a park on the outskirts of the valley the other day, and snapped this shot looking back across the desert toward home.
We have beach huts too
Submarines
And 45 minutes from this
My daily commute:
and where I live now:
In the countryside,,,fields, peace and big skies :-)
Southern New Jersey. Amazing summers.
I was born in this city, and while I moved 6 miles away, I still teach here.

but I this is my house where I am from
and this is what I feel home is - my dad being demanded by one of our swans to be fed

Minnesota in the summer... Land of 10,000 lakes!
and water or no water, we do have some beautiful sunsets. This was taken last year, after we first moved to Idaho, but before we bought our property.
