I have Photoshop on my work computer but I rarely use it. On my home computer I use a combination of Pixlr editor (can do layers in this) Picmonkey and Photoscape.
All free...the first 2 are online programs and Photoscape is a download, useful if I am editing away from home.

I'm a Lightroom fan, just upgraded to 4 from 3.6, and not disappointed. It's relatively affordable, and reputedly more intuitive than Photoshop (although I've never used Photoshop, so I couldn't say).

Hey everyone, just wanted to pass this on. Just this past week I took a tutorial from Trey Radcliff and his site stuck in customs offers many great discount coupons on editing programs. I think lightroom 4.1 you can get 20% off of I got 15% off of photomatix pro when i purchased it months ago and it is still available. You can findt other discounts as well. The code you use is stuckincustoms. You can also go to the website for more info at www.stuckincustoms.com. Happy processing!

I use FastStone for the small amount of correction I do. My main use is to manage my photo albums and to move images around. Shareware $30 if you like it.
