Is that per liter or gallon? If it is per gallon perhaps the cost should increase to same level as rest of world to stop subsidizing global warming and high consumption (gas guzzling) vehicles. If it is per liter looking a bit cheaper than usual for Oz. if I was in Europe I would say that this is a lot less than I was used too.
Petrol pricing is a loaded political question. What about the price of bread or cup of rice in third world?
@peterdegraaff in Canada it is all per litre, US does by gallon (and the US gallon is smaller than the Imperial gallon 3.79 litres in 1 US gallon, and 4.546 litres in an Imperial gallon)
So @sudweeks would be per gallon....which is pretty darn cheap!
@manek43509 Wow....that's like $2.14 CAD/litre! We have it pretty darn good...no wonder the big Automakers aren't in any hurry to give good gas mileage here in North America!
$1.25 CAD per litre in Vancouver, BC (equivalent to £0.79 per litre in GBP, $4.77 per US gallon in USD). Across the border in Washington, 45 minutes south of Vancouver, it's $3.35 per US gallon, so I usually fill up whenever I go across.
What?? $1.20??! It's 1.15 in Oshawa and 1.11 in Port Hope!!
I really don't understand how the price can fluctuate so much from my part of ON to your part of ON!!
Thank you to all for sharing in this conversation. Interesting to see the various prices across Canada - even within a few hours of one another - and also the United States. Not that long ago it was incredibly less!
In the UK, prices are not as wide spread; nice to have information from New Zealand to add on my information for when I go there!

My car's diesel - it's about £1.36 per litre here, at the moment. Disgraceful.
$1.12CDN at Costco but all other stations $1.17.
R11.51 = $1.30 / litres = R43.74 / gallon = $4.92 / gallon
Well, with all my mathematical dyslexia, I think this is right .. :)

Rising fuel costs have been a regular gripe for British people for some years now. :(
£1.33 ($2.14 per litre) just outside London....
Or
£6.04 or $9.71 per gallon
