We got a voucher for a £75 canvas print for just £18 that was running out and I'd not got around to finding a print or ordering it. So today I finally got around to putting a picture up and thought the one of my son running down the dunes would be ace. When I went to upload the photo it seemed that the cropping did not reach the edges of my picture as I had not accounted for the wrap around.
So I stuck to work with an idea that I had of making the picture one big shot with no edges and after about 1.5 hours I got this.
I then uploaded it and was about to press yes to ordering it when I noticed at the bottom of the page a little button that said "make the edges white.
When I pressed the button the cropping expanded and it turned out the first photo worked perfectly, gah, so I didn't need to do the 1.5 hours work.
However, the wife likes the new one (she's @armintalovegrove on here) and suggested I put it to the vote.
So question is, do you like the new photo, or the original below
@silverhorn haha no worries, I have no preferences I like them both it was her that suggested I stick it to a vote @geertje That's the new one on top. It took an age to do, but I'm happy with it, I might make it a little darker or more vibrant before I finally order it. @starfisher the original I did an age ago (I think the photo is about 4 years old) and we kept saying it would be great to print out @flamez I'm happy to say she does, it means I can default to her for most decisions and coast. I'll be the braun she can be the brains ;-)
I like the new one except that to me the colors in your son's clothes seem brighter in the original version, and seem to make him stand out more. That is my thoughts :D
@rebcastillo77 no that's cool, I agree. I plan to make this one more vibrant if I do use it and pick out the blacks a bit too. Look at me I almost sound like I know what I'm doing.
Definitely the one on top. It just flows nicely and the colors in the sky in the second are not all the same. They look slightly different on my screen (a little lighter in the first 2).
I prefer the top one for printing on a canvas because it looks softer, more painting-like. If it was to be printed like a photo, I would prefer the one with all the frames. However, I don't think I'd like the black lines on canvas, because I think it seem to look like picture frames.
I like the top one more. I see more action in it. When placed on canvas, the top photo will look more like a painting when placed on canvas. The top one is more interesting because there is a pattern, but the pattern is not consistent throughout the photo. This adds interest and movement to the pattern.
My 2c worth: Top one for sure - it has free movement. Lovely colours and youthful. You won't get tired of it quickly, whereas the lower, paneled one, I think you would.

All those lines would drive me crazy, but I love the action and colours in the bottom one though
Cheers everyone for that. I really was either/or, but seeing as my wife likes the latest effort and so do a massive majority here I guess that is the one I'll go with. It's been nice to poll for the opinion. I'm probably going to play with the colours just to bring it out a little but I'll go for the one that almost looks like one shot.
thanks all again, I'll let you know how it works!!
