A while ago there was a great thread with some stunning pictures on called "What The Magic Monkeys Missed".
If you have a shot that you feel they missed, that you though deserved the PP page - post it here for us all to see
A lot of my favorite travel photos are a couple years old or I'd pick those. Regardless I thought the A-Bomb Dome from the Hiroshima Peace Park Museum was a touching photograph.
I started that thread and thanks for doing it again. Maybe we should start it periodically. I loved seeing everyone post their pictures and pat themselves on the back. And I think I have another picture too.. I used a macro filter for this one.
Tis is by no means my best shot, plus it's just an iPhone pic and I processed it to make it more colorful (which sort of seems like cheating), but it's a pic I really love, especially since it's New Mexico, my home state.
I have a few that I was surprised didn't make the monkey list.
I have posted my lion shot in all of these kinds of threads. I am just really surprised that it didn't get as much attention as I thought it would have
Then this one barely got any hits...
it seems that my photos are getting worst because I have had very little views the last couple weeks (like 1 to 3 views a photo) and even less comments. Anyway, this photo was taken today so it still hasn't had any views (though that is even odd, considering how many hours it has been up already)... but it's my favorite one I have taken in a while.
@samdan It did make the PP!!! But for a very short time....but I finally made it. And I took a picture of it on the PP. I saw it just before we left for a cookout and took a picture of my computer screen. But this morning...it's not there anymore. That's ok. I made it there at least once. Thanks everyone for getting it on there.

Just a thought - if it isn't on the PP, isn't it because we missed it, rather than the Magic Monkeys? Doesn't a photo get on the PP by having a really high # of hits? There's so much stuff I love that I happen upon accidentally. I always try to fav the ones that affect me and I look in other people's favs files to find good stuff. There is such an awesome accumulation of work here.
I am not sure how things seem to make it to the popular page, not sure if its solid technique or just plain how well it appeals to these monkeys that everyone keeps talking about. There are so many wonderful photos here, there just isn't enough room for all that should be there, but of all the ones that do make the pp (myself included), the majority of them usually contain an animal or two, all I can say, just keep trying.
The monkeys posted 2 of my shots taken this same day so I'm really grateful (and they were probably over it) but I loved the 3rd shot I posted, this one, the most because as Marianne Bourland commented (speaking my feelings), the shot seems to carry its own story in contrast to what was actually happening. I love that about photography.
I don't know for sure if this deserves the pp, but I took some time and patience getting it set up right, I thought there was a chance. Just thought I'd share it. ;)
Not that it's a super shot...or the monkeys missed it...it just got 13 views! I think the trouble with having an ACE account is that, if people are not surfing their whole home page, the shots in the extra albums are easily missed.
I don't often have a photo that I truly think the monkeys missed. I have photos that are pretty good for me. :) But I did kind think this maybe had a shot. Didn't happen but whatever....***VIEW LARGE****

i guess the monkey never really liked me or whatever. lol. When I posted this photo I got really excited I thought the Monkeys would notice my excitement too. lol.
Thought I would add this one. That said, those mystical magical monkeys have picked a few of mine for pp which has been a real surprise. Who knows what goes on in monkies head - tho I hear they are pretty smart:-)
Oh, and now its on pp..... looks like those magic monkeys are onto everything. Woops:-)

Mine would have to be this one. It got three favs, so I thought maybe it had a chance, but nope.
And this one I personally really liked, but not much traffic on it.
