This one of mine made it in. The guy on the right had an astounding match, where he took 6 wickets for 27 runs, knocking him over 50 wickets for the season, which hasn't been done for our club in over 10 years, then he scored the fastest 100 we've ever seen, off 44 balls, in 50 minutes, in the dark, for his first ton for the club. Not forgetting that he had also taken a catch to give him the catching cup. The one on the left is a typical number 11, gives it his all, but tbh can't bat a huge amount, and his contribution was staying with him, hitting occasional singles to get off the strike, and not getting out! We won the game, and it was a big enough feat to get it into the local papers. Sorry for the lengthy commentary :)
This isn't going into the paper...yet. But, it's at the printer right now, cropped vertically around the gazebo (which sits in the middle of town) and being made into 4' long banners that will hand on the lightposts lining the state route that goes through town. 96 of them!
this was in quite a while ago 2010 the caption as follows
Yesterday morning before we left for out of town, I heard a constant noise from the river. I thought it was a big bird that was in the area trying to attract a mate. Sooo I went to investigate with camera in hand. This is what I found. I figure the dog had been there for at least 45 minutes, her (bark) was getting pretty weak. I climbed down the rocks to the river, laid down on the ice and reached out to get the scruff of her neck. I didn't know if she would try to bite me or not, she didn't, just let me pull her up onto the ice. Then had to help her up the bank because she was pretty weak in the hips. Her owners live just about 100 yards away so I got to them and they then got her to the comfort of their home. I am just glad I heard her.
@leahfu I think i would rather be on a bottle of soda than the newspaper. That picture will get out to millions of people not just the people in your city or town. Im going to submit a few to jones soda and see if I can get mine picked.
@rrt That is a great photo and a sweet story. Glad you were able to pull her our of the ice!
Just today my photos from Cupid's Undie Run in DC got published to their official Facebook site. I only shot the event from the run part in front of the Capitol building. There were 87 useable photos taken during the 17 minutes the runners were there. It was like shooting a flash mob.
Photos were edited and donated to their charity and are now a part of their official photo collection.
Mine won't count since I'm the editor for most of them, but this one made it in to the paper in the county where I live and I'm not the editor of it :)
i've had these from the project (above) and some others for the dive club with the local MP and some other local images of the town in orevious years. Also done some band ones for their publicity posters and web site
