Show me your photos showing Easter traditions

April 2nd, 2012
I posted a shot with Easter eggs hanging in a tree, which is common here in Northern Germany. What Easter traditions are to be found in your home (if you celebrate Easter)? Show me your pictures.

Here is mine:

We go to an old, beautiful estate where we had our wedding reception every Easter for the annual egg hunt. It was built in 1913 and the grounds are breathtaking. Here is my oldest
on one of the swings there waiting to hunt eggs.

just thinking that while I may be running behind a bit, but I have not even started to think about Easter photos. May want to repost next Monday after people start taking the photos.

April 2nd, 2012
@noragentian No, just chocolate although I guess you could use anything vaguely egglike, including sugared almonds. Maybe next year!

@noragentian Usually we go to church, where there is a special service. Then we go to my grandmother's house where we have a family meal.

EMMA

337 / 365

There was an Easter egg hunt today at the church I attend. There were 23 kids that came to have a good time, not only collecting eggs, but eating sandwiches, and cookies, and most of all hearing again the reason of the Easter season. This little girl is Emma, she is the third child of four in this great family. She was born with no eyes. She goes to a regular school (with help of course) and is actually an inspiration to all that know and talk with her. She is just a delight to be around and hear how she talks about things.

Wow, this is a wonderful collection of painted eggs. Are you fix them on a ribbon and hang into branches?

No, they are hard boiled. First we spend an evening coloring them as a family. Then come the night before Easter the adults hide them for the kids to find first thing in the morning. And then the eggs get eaten. (Well, at least the ones that are only colored with food coloring.) I foresee lots of egg salad sandwiches in our immediate future.
