i was thrilled to win the last round of the black and white challenge, as i love b&w photography but often find it - well, a challenge. grateful thanks to all those who voted for my rose, and to kali@66 for hosting, and choosing the wonderful subject of flora
i considered several possibilities for this round, and in the end am going with writing. this has a personal resonance for me as i've always loved all types of stationery and writing papaphernalia, and back in the day i wrote two (unpublished) novels and a couple of (published) short stories ...
so i invite you to explore anything to do with writing ... pens, pencils, ink, paper, fonts, typefaces, keyboards, computer screens, books, magazines, newspapers and anything else that comes to mind. think about the best subjects for black and white, which will bring you to considering texture, light, contrast, patterns, shape etc. there are plenty of useful links in @olivetreeann's flash of red challenge, which is running concurrently: http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/31071/flash-of-red-february-12-18-it-s-time-for-a-flash-of-red
please tag your images bw-24. they have to be taken and posted between now and midnight gmt on sunday 25 february. i will then post a shortlist of finalists, and you will all get to vote for the winner. do post them in this thread to inspire others if you would like to ... i look forward to seeing all your wonderful images!
