Sports photography is one of the most exciting and rewarding genres of photography and I think it would great to have it as a regular challenge on 365. To that end I would like to introduce Sports Action 1. Take a photo of someone participating in a sport and submit it to this challenge. This is a very wide open category, it could be someone running, swimming, cycling, riding a horse, playing tennis, golf, volleyball, waterskiing, throwing a frisbee, participating in a team sport such as soccer, hockey, baseball, even motor racing. You won’t have to look hard to find a subject. The only rule is that the main subject should be a human actively engaged in a sport of some kind. It need not necessarily be a competitive sport so recreational running, cycling, swimming, etc. are fine but simply walking the dog is not. I’d like to think that this challenge will be well received and generate many entries. So get out there with your cameras and show us people all over the world having fun playing sports.
Starting date: July 1, 2021
End Date: July 31, 2021. All photos should be taken between these dates.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Well, I guess if you managed to grab a shot of Harry Kane scoring his second goal against the Ukraine I could make an exception. lol
I was wondering the same thing :) Not many sports happening around here right now. I have plenty in my archives, but finding something new might be difficult.
@spanishliz Like I said, it doesn't have to be a team sport. A photo of someone cycling, jogging or skateboarding around your neighbourhood or even flying a kite would fit the brief. But if you really can't find an activity to shoot, by all means, enter one from your archives.
@cdcook48 Thanks, Chris. I like taking sports shots and have felt the lack of them recently. I'll keep my eyes peeled, and maybe tag some older ones, but not to be considered for the challenge voting if I do. Just to join in, eh.
@clearday How great is that! This is a fine example of just the kind of image I hope this challenge will produce. People gathering to have fun playing a sport. Even though it doesn’t fall within my arbitrary dates please tag it anyway, it could inspire others to get out and shoot. And please continue to shoot yourself and submit more images.
