My apologies to all the EOTB fans for not getting this up as quickly as I had intended! I plea distraction with grandchildren as my reason for being amiss.
Many thanks to Susan Wakely @wakelys for leading Eye of the Beholder 146 and to all of you who voted for my potatoes in the kitchen sink. One of the things I love about this challenge is that it really features the unique ability all photographers have when it comes to noticing the unusual or unique, capturing it through the lens and turning it into something extraordinary. You know you’ve found that kind of photo when people start watching you and you know they’re wondering what on earth possessed you to take the shot!
So here are the particulars. This challenge is about using light, the rules of composition and your photographer's eye to find the beauty in your subject. The challenge is to portray your subject in a way that comes across differently and aesthetically pleasing even though initially the subject may not come across that way.
A bit of post-processing is okay, but please go lightly with edits -- there are other challenges for processing - and it's your subject that needs to shine through!
Since I had intended to post this challenge a little bit sooner I’m back-dating the start of this challenge and letting it run into the new year.
Start Date: December 14, 2022
End: January 14, 2023
Tag: EOTB-147
There are only two rules which apply to this challenge.
1- the photo must be taken within the appointed time frame, and,
2- the photo must be taken by you.
Enter as often as you find subjects which you think are unique and have that unexpected beauty, but only one of your entries will make it to the short list if selected.
As always feel free to keep the thread alive by posting your pictures below.
I’m looking forward to seeing what catches your eye.
Thanks for contributing to the thread! Some great entries so far.
So ... don't forget to short-list this challenge, Ann!!
