I LOVE vintage Singers. I think this is a Singer 99 (a 3/4-sized machine). I had three but gave two away to two of my boys last year. My third son chose a different model. With the serial number, you can find the month and year made, and where it was made. A beauty! Love your story line -- had to go back to #1 and read it all the way through. Here, in the greater-Minneapolis area, we have a lot of alterations to make and stitching work to do.
@seattlite thank you very much! @featherstone26 thank you very much for the details! I actually donβt know: I took this and the last two photos at a vintage furniture shop where they were for sale. The peculiarity of this is that it is electric. Now I remember you live in Minnesota! Such sad, dire times. @fbailey I like the forms of these vintage sewing machines a lot! @ludwigsdiana this is not mine, actually, but I think lines in these vintage objects are unparalleled by any modern design! @leonbuys83 thank you very much! @salza it looked like in excellent conditions, effectively, and the price tag it came with was coherent π @kali66 thank you! @joemuli π @louannwarren thanks a lot! @moviegal1 thank you! @stray_shooter thank you very much, Ron!
My husband has a number of sewing machines, one of which is a Singer, which he picked up at a car boot sale a few years back. Love the patterning on the top.
Oooh!
I cut my sewing teeth with one of these...many, many moons ago. Long since replaced with the Singing, Dancing version...whilst effective, it doesn't ooze charm.
Fav love this. I do have one. Not working with it. You can check the date it was made according to the serial number.(Google) Mine is 100 years old and made in Scotland.
