Nobody seems to fish with fishing rod in hand any more. I've even seen "fishermen" in little shelters watching TV. The chap in the foreground seemed to be snoozing and the one further away was playing a video game on his phone!

They still manage to catch fish. The rods have little alarms which sound when fish take the bait!
I think the guy might have spotted me, but he went back to sleep. :-)
Narrow boats are very sturdy. Not recommended and certainly not designed for it ( and I've heard an nb builder comment rather, erm, straightforwardly about it) but someone crossed the English Channel in one some years ago!
