Lester and I went to Hertford to explore today - a bit of a change from woodlands, gardens and the coast. It's a very nice old town and the High Street has lots of individually owned businesses, a refreshing change from those shopping centres that are packed with chain stores and little else.
I find architecture very interesting and liked the buildings on this road, especially the hotel, with the name change explanation painted on its wall, and the decorative rendering. I thought that little puff of cloud that looks like smoke from the chimnney was quite fun too. :-)
