Uploaded retrospectively because Sunday was a wash-out (not literally; it was hot and sunny!) photographically speaking.
This is part of a statue of Joan of Arc, known as the Maid of Orleans, in the grounds of Cliveden house (Lester and I went for a walk there this afternoon - Monday)
Joan, or Jeanne to give her her correct name, was little more than a girl when she led the French army to several significant victories during the Hundred Years War.
Her story, which is a bit too complicated to be written here, can be found at - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan_of_Arc
I like the way the sculptor has depicted her with the still-rounded features of a young girl.
She has a cobweb across her face which can be seen a bit more clearly on large view.
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

I love the sculpture! Fab detail, pov and tones. I've always enjoyed the story of Jeanne d'arc. Her courage and bravery at such a young age made her so worthy of achieving sainthood.
