As a result of the massive cross-country trip I've done over the last few days, I've had the opportunity to see the many faces of winter in South Africa. I love this scene near Riviersonderend (River without end) with the olive trees marching across the skyline. As ever, the sky is pale blue. The Southern Cape is a grain-growing area, with all the wheat fields already planted for the new season. I'm not sure what's going to be grown here - my Dad suggested it may be a green fodder like lucerne.
