The Tablecloth from inside the Castle of Good Hope

This must be one of the oldest building/scenery views in Cape Town. The Castle was built by 1680, and is the oldest colonial building in South Africa.

The Tablecloth is the name given to the clouds flowing over the famous flat top of Table Mountain. This happens when the South-Easter is blowing strongly and is a sign that hats and umbrellas should be kept indoors.
Great shot of the Table and castle! Just as we thought it was done and dusted that wind got going again!

@hinhoutbay This wind has no plans on going anywhere soon :) My solace is that the interior of the country needs the wind for their seasonal summer rain. No wind here = drought inland. http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?sc=91

You got a clear view and beautiful picture! From your description it seems that the South-Easter is a strong wind and not very popular.

I love these views of your city! Especially the ones with the mountains... it's been interesting seeing the different moods of Table Mountain from your pictures...
