It's been years since I've seen the Squirrel Monkey troop at the World of Birds in Hout Bay. They've had various homes in the area; this is the best. I know that back in '88 they were private pets at Swan Cottage in a dreadful small aviary. But now they have a lovely big home with enough place to play and maintain the complex family relationships that a healthy troop need.
The World of Birds allows visitors into their home for a few hours a day on a "look and don't touch" basis. Luke and I spent happy time there, and just to make sure that I didn't get attached to them, one came and sat on my shoulder - and promptly pooped down my back.

Great shot! That sounds like something that would happen to me!! He reminds me of the monkey from Pirates of the Caribbean, although I know it's a different species. I guess I say that because we just finished watching that movie. Keep up the good work.
