Today started quite well, I finished making up a few cards not finished from yesterday and I headed off to Twickenham for a 2.00pm appointment to deliver new prints and stock the the People Hive. I showed George my new card designs and he wants to trial three of the graphic designs once I get them printed. Then things took a turn for the worse. I heard back to the car having only been parked for around fifteen minutes only to find a ticket as I had parked slightly over the line into a free space (not a bay). It was not marked and I was not obscuring any other parking. I think they wardens must have been watching me but not enough to warn me to move as the ticket was produced literally 5-6 minutes after I left the car. I am going to appeal but it set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.
I drove grumpily onto Richmond to deliver cards to Waterstones and decided to park in our usual car park which has been closed for a couple of months to be retraced and remarked - determined to stay within the lines this time! I found a space and went to pay only to discover that the car park is so new they have not put in tickets machines yet. I thought I’d use the Ringo app only to discover that as I have not used it for a few months it needed to be updated but then forgot that I have a Richmond card and discovered that my residency had expired. I phoned up for assistance only to be told (now me along with crowd of people awaiting the result of my phone call) that it would be best to go and park somewhere else which had a ticket machine. I was not in a good mood at this point.
I finally managed to park right on the other side of Richmond Green, to get a ticket WITH my Richmond card and walk briskly to Waterstones, restock and travel back via Boot show were out of stock of what I wanted… back to the car!
A final trip to Tescos and at least my luck changed a little as I was able to get one of the ‘gold dust’ 4 bays owned by Tescos which do not require a ticket! Phew.
