Storm Ashley hit the country this morning although it was worse up in Scotland and Yorkshire where Hester is. Penzance was pretty bad as well. We just got pouring rain and wind for most of the day but it brightening a bit later in the afternoon. I finally caught up with Mum on the phone and exchanged news - mostly medical - on her side but it sounds like she is not too bad.
For the rest of the day I was mostly working on the computer and wrapping up Isabelle’s birthday parcels - she’s eleven years old in a couple of weeks. I can’t believe it’s almost a year since we were getting ready towhead to Florence to celebrate Mum’s eightieth birthday!
