How to cook marbled eggs

Crack hard boiled eggs gently with the back of a spoon, before putting them in a strong tea and simmering. When you will peel the eggs, the whites will display a nice pattern just where the tea has penetrated through the cracks.

The credit of the cooking and of the picture goes to our daughter, who made this decorative preparation for her guest friends and their children yesterday night.
I must say they do look rather weird!

This is so very Asian except that they do not use tea. Lovely shot and surely good tasting too.

What a good idea. I thought they were polished stones at first.

They are fascinating - they look like some strange stone age egg cracking open. :)
