Like the black ridges of the wavy pattern and the texture. Does the sea actually curve in to the left of the image? As I would have expected the patterns to run parallel to the sea instead of towards it.
@lmsa You are right : quite often, sand ripples would be left by the slowly receding water, and thus they would be parallel to the water line. In this case, the ripples had been created and were being constantly remodelled by the fierce wind that was blowing on the dry sand, almost perpendicularly to the waterline. I had to make the shot in between two gusts of wind, otherwise you would not even have distinguished the sand at all.
