The Tower of Babel : explanation

As I got a few questions, here is some background on my "Tower of Babel" post of October 2nd. This picture is an old postcard that represents the St Michel's Church in Pont-l'Eveque after the Normandy battle in 1944. You can see on the left the angle from which I made my shot this week (the tower has of course been restored in the meantime).

Very interesting to see what it looked like at that point. Such devastation, must have been terrible to experience it.

Thanks for sharing this photo Etienne, yet another example of the dreadful costs - human and material - that wars involve.
