The side gives great definition to the textures of the sand and foam.
The shadow on the edge of the foam itself is registering blue on my screen and I'm wondering if you intended a black and white image.
@dulciknit Hi Alison Thanks for your interest and for your very valuable remark. Now that you say it, I see that the edge of the foam is slightly blue-ish on my screen as well. I do not know why it is like that, as I did very little processing on this picture and I checked that it is already like that on my original SooC shot. It disappears of course when I convert the shot into b&w and that is probably what I should have done and what I would do if I had to post it again. Thank you again for the advice, this point had completely escaped to me.
@etienne It was just something that caught my eye, Etienne.
Sometimes it happens that a photographer wants to present a b&w photo but there is a colour cast that they are not aware of. This is so nearly black and white that I wondered if that might be the case here. However, I see now that there is a little yellow in the raised textures in the sand too.
Thank you for your comments on my work - if you see anything in my images that you feel could be improved on or approached in a different way , please do feel free to say so; I welcome and appreciate critique too.
