"I am the greatest. I said that even before I knew I was." Muhammed Ali.
The building is a roofless shell, formerly an auto body shop, located in a neighborhood of failed businesses and run-down houses. It's called the Museum of Public Art and has murals by internationally-acclaimed grafitti artists. But it is locked and the interior paintings are visible only through cloudy plexiglass doors. Several years ago there was a summer program for the kids in the neighborhood, painting a mural on another vacant building. They haven't had that in a couple of years because there's no funding.
I guess people have to really believe in a project in order to fund it. So sad for this one because it really seems like a creative and worthwhile outlet for the children. Good shot.
