St. Maurice Catholic Center, Lower Ninth Ward, New Orleans

St. Maurice church was closed in 2008 due to damage from Hurricane Katrina. Not sure when the parish center closed.

This is a great photo of the center. Katrina wreaked havoc on so much of this area.

Such a shame- it looks like it was a hub of activity until then. I like how the cross still stands out in spite of the state of the building.

Yes, Katrina did a lot of damage. great capture and yes, the cross was the first thing I noticed.
