I was hoping to get some shots of the killdeer chicks when they hatched, but when I checked the nest this morning, mama and eggs were gone. All the visitors to the facility were watching over them and we had learned that killdeer chicks can walk very soon after hatching. We hope that mama moved them somewhere safer and that they were not victims of a predator.
