Bee a linebacker? by evalieutionspics

Bee a linebacker?

Terrible...I know, that was terrible.

This carpenter bee was drowning in the pool this morning, so I rescued him. Wilbur was not impressed. He decided that I needed protecting from the ferocious black thing on the ground and would not leave my side...hence the shadow in the background.

Bee was not overly impressed with Wilbur and every time he moved; bee rared up like he was about to do battle or play football...which is the same thing some Sundays.

He was tough to photograph due to his color and the water glistening on him. I think you get a feel for his personality, though.
Super capture

Always good to rescue one of our garden residents. He is a bit of mean looker tho!

You have got some nice wee bokeh on his legs there which I like but not the bee- he looks aggressive and maybe a bit stingful!

He does look like he could take on Wilbur with the stance and those mesmerizing eyes. Fabulous macro!!!Fav!

@ziggy77 Thank you very much!

@Cherrill Thanks a lot! I agree about his look. I was a bit wary, to be honest, especially with Wilbur being so determined to guard me against him.

@maggiemae Thank you! The light was reflecting off of him all over the place. His wings were the most gorgeous iridescent purple-y blue color.

@joysabin Thank you very much! Wilbur thought so also.

@alia_801 Thank you very much. I also think it looks great on black.

LOL 'terrible' I think not! It's actually taking a linebacker or lineman stance :) I love that you rescued it. Fantastic all around.
