Forged Spoon by evalieutionspics

Forged Spoon

When I first learned to forge, the instructor asked us to forge a spoon as our test piece. We were given a 4mm x 6cm piece of square stock and could make whatever shaped we wished, but it had to be at least 9cm in length when finished. The shaping had to be done with a hammer, not a file.

This is my test piece. It's not a fancy spoon, but the lines are graceful, and every one of them reminds me that I am capable of more than I think I am.
What?! I think it is fabulous! Don't think I could produce this - could sell this for a mint in the right stores!

@cottiac Thank you! My boys tease me by calling it my druggie spoon; I had to ask them what that meant. :)

@evalieutionspics Huh! I had to look it up to see what you meant - actually glad I didn't know!

@cottiac Since we lived in Saudi at the time and were waaaay out in the boonies, I was fairly sure it wasn't due to experience, but we did have a discussion...read serious MOM face there.

Wonderful spoon (I would love to have such a unique piece for my food shots) and a great photo. Love the colours, light and reflection.

A beautiful spoon - lovely that you made it yourself.

@mona65 Thank you very much! I love your food shots! You should find a blacksmith; it would be an easy job.

@alia_801 Thank you very much!
