We had a huge rain/wind storm last night so all of the snails have come out of hibernation.
When I was looking at this on my PC, I began to wonder how snail shells are formed so I looked it up. I didn't find all of the answers I was seeking, but I did find out that you can find tell if a snail is full grown if there is a lip on the opening. If there isn't, it is still growing and will continue to add shell. I also found out that one can determine the age of the snail by how many rings it has...but it didn't go into details as to how many rings equals how much age. It was a very interesting bit of research.
@joysabin Thank you! I am glad to know that I am not the only one who likes them.
@granagringa Thank you very much! You are right that I had so do some waiting. I startled it when I first approached, so had to sit quietly for about 10 minutes before it resumed its journey.
