For me, the challenge in this photo was determining where to focus. I had no idea where the top was going to go, so I focused on the front edge of the disc. I tried to give enough depth of field so that most of the top would be in focus, but the background would still be blurry so y'all wouldn't have to look at my crazy workshop.
I got some good photos of the top in a good spin, but it doesn't really show motion...in fact, it just looks like it is sitting there. And I really liked this one; it reminds me of a whirling dervish.
Great response to the macro motion challenge (thanks for entering!) I liked, too, your comment about a whirling dervish. I can see the likeness of a head, raised arms, and torso above a spinning garment in the blur.
