In the Distance

More learning with the neutral density filter.

I forgot to relate a DUH! moment yesterday which I share so y'all can have a laugh today.

The first photo I took had a 3.5-minute exposure; I held the button on my remote the whole time, thinking the whole time that they ought to make one that had a lock on it. For the second photo, my finger got tired, so I tried to switch fingers, which is when I discovered that it did indeed have a lock! Whew! Glad I got that figured out! :)

This photo is of the pier. We have had some very strong storms in the last couple of months which have completely altered the beach. Places where I used to be able to set up, are now underwater because the sand has been scooped up and moved somewhere else. If I were to do this one again, I would try to compose it so that the distant rock is not so in line with the end of the pier.

Lovely! The rocks have a dreamlike feel to them - almost like they're floating on a cloud :)

Beautiful. I use my graduated nd filters for sunsets and sun rises, but haven't tried the long exposure yet. You've inspired me to find the right scenery and give it a go.
