The Survivor

I was astounded to see this tattered male Eastern Tiger Swallowtail fluttering at the top of the butterfly bush. Did a bird spit him out after a tentative taste or was it wind or hail? Or maybe a fight over a woman? I am amazed that he can still fly.

At the Magic Wings in Mass they have glued wings of other butterflies to injured ones to pro-long their life span. Kinda cool.

Oh wow. I have never seen one so broken before. This is kind of sad. I'm very surprised he can still fly.
