This nervous plover was digging in the sand, then moved a few feet and tried again. She was probably looking for an undisturbed place to nest. She was so camoufaged that we nearly stepped on her, but gave her wide berth after I took a few shots.
Great shot of this bird. They're VERY hard to spot when still and their eggs are even more difficult to see, but I hope you will get a chance to photograph them, too.
You got a great shot of her here. Love how well the eye shows up and her markings are so pretty. Against that sand I can see where she was hard to spot. Nicely done.
