I was sent to the old St. Michael's Academy in Cornwall, Ontario when I was out hunting for a grotto for this week's get pushed challenge.
It is now a retirement home. The gardens remain, and the waterfall and stones that held the nativity scene remain, but the grotto itself is now gone.
I really must learn how to use my Photoshop program. Most of my shots are SOOC with just a bit of cropping but I know this photo would be so much nicer with no clutter in the background!
Beautiful serene girl & would be a pleasure to sit beside that in a garden. I wouldn't be able to get rid of the background but I can see what you mean.
The shadowing on her stone face is subtle and sweet - a great contrast for the softness of the wood behind her. A blurred background might have been nice but the sunlight has given you a nice edge to the statue, pulling it away nicely. Good luck with the grotto hunting.
