On the horizon 21 miles away is France. And a short distance away the port of Dover has declared a 'critical incident' with massive queues building up to the port unable to cross the Channel as planned. This has been caused by the sheer volume of traffic due to the start of the Easter school holiday season and lengthy French border processes.
