Machine learning is the study of computer algorithms that can learn from data – a type of Artificial Intelligence. With this, machines have the ability to be trained to make predictions and decisions rather than following explicitly programmed code. I find these autonomous machines disturbing as coders aren’t fully able to understand how a trained machine ultimately reaches a decision. Sounds a bit like science fiction, but it’s all too real…

Yikes, Caroline! Not only a totally cool image, Stephen Hawking's assessment is quite a chilling conclusion to your text! Anymore, we should never say, "never..." Only last night I was admiring my friend's Apple watch when she got a call, and I remembered the comics of my youth and how enchantingly preposterous Dick Tracy's watch was! Who might have guessed?!

So much of the science fiction I read as a teenager if becoming real these days........ As I remember, most of these stories had an unfortunate outcome. Scary times. Great image. :)
