two years ago, wanting to do away with colouring my hair, i decided to have it highlighted with light grey then let it grow back into its natural colour which is more grey than dark brown. i had to endure several months of "blonde" colouring as that's what became of the strands that were still dark. now it's all a mixture of white and grey and dark brown (which looks like black). i'm loving it and i have been constantly stopped by people, sometimes even complete and random strangers, telling me they like my hair. the surprise is that grey hair doesn't make me look "old" as i thought. a couple of the new lawyers in the office liked my hair so much they had their beautiful tresses coloured like mine.
the one advantage i so enjoy are the young asians (the polite ones) who would give up their seats on the train not for "miss" but for "ma'am". yay!
