me at 80 (supposed to be) by fiveplustwo

me at 80 (supposed to be)

the thief

the wrinkled skin, once soft and smooth
the dull, waning eyes, once sparkled with youth
the crooked smile, once vibrant with laughter
the now bent body, once an agile dancer.

you look in the mirror, wonder where you’ve gone
all these years but you’re left with the wisdom
that youth is fleeting, old age is full of grief
blame Time, the perfect, uncatchable thief.

the upper portion apparently is how i will look like at age 80. the lower portion will remain the same. i didn't want to pay the $20 membership fee to get the whole aged photo. i may be old, but i'm not dumb.

@summerfield
You still look stunning :-)

Brilliant narrative, between serious and sarcastic. Love it! @summerfield

Beautiful poem. I like that you only aged your hair color. Very intelligent indeed. No need to see the wrinkles before their time.

If you look like that at 80 I guess you will be lucky enough not to be in pain!
