the psychology of the hands

when just hand motions are enough to convey one's emotion. here's some of them and some personal analysis:

1. maybe sincere in offering an explanation, an apology or understanding. accompanying facial expression is the cutie face like a child who wants some candy. ignore.

2. the "i see" hands. offers understanding but it would be difficult to see that underlying patronizing attitude. short nods of head with serious facial expression completes the look. ignore.

3. the "OMG" gesture. accompanied by wide eyes and a smile with an "o" expression of the lips. just ignore.

4. the 'OK' gesture. if smiling, may be sincere; if serious, you wish you could hear what's being said inside the head. worth more analyzing.

5. the 'listen to me or else' gesture. you better watch out. if you think the gesturer knows that he/she's talking about, might be worth heeding.

6. the "well, you know, if you only listen to me" gesture. you may or may not see the patronizing twinkle in the eyes but you bet, it's there. be very careful.

7. the "uh-huh, yes, yes" gesture. sometimes accompanied by this holier than thou attitude that you'd want to smack right out. just ignore.

8. there's a term for that gesture but the french call it "tabernac!" i bet you have your own interpretation for that. i'd tell you to ignore but if you respond, watch out; he/she might be armed and dangerous (especially when in traffic).

9. who cares what this means when you've got #8.

You are so right - the hand signals - means something so clearly! And No 8 to you!

A very clever collage. I understand in England the #8 sign is our peace sign

I wish I could respond with a hand signal, but I think I will keep my hands firmly by my side. Atleast for today. The collage is so good - but with your notes, and especially building up to the last line, most amusing.
