Medieval Architecture

Lavenham was one of the wealthiest settlements in England during the 15th and 16th centuries because of the wool trade. I love the decorative plasterwork, known as pargeting, the black and white timber and the wonky walls.
Really interesting text and set of images. I find it fascinating that settlements in Suffolk were so wealthy in the middle ages because of the wool trade. I guess that’s why there are so many lovely churches.

Lovely collage, your close ups are perfect to show their skill. Ive added Suffolk to places to visit ( and not seen baby brother for years!)
