Yesterday we visited Peterborough Cathedral with our local History Society. We’ve been several times before but I was unaware of that the ceiling was built in 1238 and there are only 3 others like this in Europe. Had it not been black from candle smut when Oliver Cromwell came to wreak havoc in the cathedral he would have destroyed it.
