The Long Man photo I posted the other day was disappointing due to its lack of antiquity but just down the road in the local churchyard is the Wilmington Yew, reputed to be 1,600 years old. It's girth at the base is 7 metres and its ancient branches are propped up with beams. It's amazing to think that this was planted in 400AD.
