Back in the garden today with another tree peony, 'Ofuji Nishiki'. They advertise this variety as a "blue" peony but of course it's not really, just a rather cool purplish shade of deep pink.
@skipt07 thanks skip. It's interesting because I have started to do more processing on a lot of my shots lately but this one actually doesn't have too much. I sharpened it a little and I lightened the shadows a little to show the detail up more, but there are no special effects or textures added and no stacking or HDR. The texture of those peony petals is amazing though and tends to come across in pictures looking almost like watercolour paint.
