I came across this tree in an odd place the other day, on the side of a ravine, on public land near a bridge. I can only imagine that in some previous period it was near a house or part of a long ago orchard. Even so, it seems a strange place to have an apple tree.
I took the picture standing at the side of the bridge with traffic whipping by and snapped it rather quickly. It's not a great picture but something about it kept drawing me back to play with it and try to make it something more.
I'm not sure why, maybe it is the fact that the apples, although probably wormy and obviously not well kept, still have a beauty about them that I felt deserved some sort of note or recognition. If you have the time, I think it is better larger.
