We've had a blue heron hanging out at the local pond all this summer but this time, when I was there, I spotted this guy who I've never seen there before. Sorry it is not a good picture, it's a crop of one taken from far away but I'm wondering if anyone can identify this bird for me. The closest I have found, after searching internet pictures, is some kind of Cormorant but I'm not at all sure. Thanks Skip. Someone else who saw the picture thought it was a cormorant too, but the shots are just not good enough to be sure. I'll have to keep my eyes open when near the pond and see if I can spot him again.
