Common Gallinule by gardencat

Common Gallinule

I've also heard this bird called a Common Moorhen so not exactly sure what the differences are except that, I've read that the Moorhens are in Europe and this one was photographed in Florida so I went for the Gallinule designaton.
Wonderful shot Joanne, lovely detail. Okay there is a bit of confusion about this bird., this is a Common Gallinule (Gallinula galeata ) and we have Common Moorhens (Gallinula Chloropus ) same family, and it was only in 2011 that the American Ornithologists Union decided that they were separate species. However I believe some Americans also used to call these Moorhens as well, hence the confusion.
Still a great shot. lol.
