I've been rushing around getting ready to go off on a three week vacation, trying to pack my own stuff and also to pre-grocery shop and precook for those who will be staying home. I thought I'd give the super moon a miss, I mean, I looked at it, but decided, last night, not to pull out the tripod etc. and try for a decent shot. This morning, I was up before dawn and saw this out the back door, and figured I had to at least try something, so here is my, not very good, shot of it. Focusing through the tree branches was a problem and I probably should say that the dark spots towards the bottom of the moon are not signs of something horrible happening to our satellite but just, I think, intervening, out of focus leaves. I'm off very early tomorrow and will probably be mostly without internet so I'll have to catch up with everyone when I return. Keep clicking.
