I love the dark, satin, gleam of tree peony seeds. And I love the rough textured finish of the big seed pods that hold them. I like to leave them on the plants, in the fall, to provide some interest in the winter garden.
The clarity of focus on those seeds is incredible!
(Your comment about it being a shame to burn the wood after arranging it to look so nice. I've thought the same thing myself.)
