I was a little behind on this, but I finally remember to plug the heated birdbath in so, the birds would have some access to water. The bluejay seemed to be appreciative.

Thank you all for your comments. The heated bath is not IMO very attractive but it does keep some liquid water around and, if the advertising blurb is to be believed it only heats when the temperature drops below freezing so you are not pumping electricity out when it’s not needed.
